Inspired by Miss Shizuoka currently on view in The Charles & Anna Milbank Library through February 8, 2026. This special display was inspired by the Lyric Opera of Kansas City’s fall 2025 production of Madame Butterfly and celebrates Japanese-American relations—past, present, and future.
HerCafe is Kansas City’s first mobile matcha cart, founded with the mission of bringing people together through intentional drinks and meaningful community gatherings.
Created by Lujyn Elsayed and Yasmen Hassen, two friends with a deep love for matcha and well-crafted beverages. HerCafe blends flavor and connection in every cup. They specialize in seasonal iced matcha lattes, thoughtfully crafted to reflect the essence of each season.
They will be serving specialty matcha flavors! Enjoy your drink in the Café or the historic lawns, weather permitting.
