Join The Museum of Kansas City’s Poet-in-Residence, Glenn North, for an inspiring poetry writing workshop that places Kansas City itself at the center of your creativity. Drawing inspiration from the city’s neighborhoods, history, and cultural legacy, as well as the museum’s current exhibits, participants will explore how place shapes voice, memory, and imagination.
Through guided writing prompts and discussion, you’ll learn how to transform Kansas City’s stories, landscapes, and rhythms into poems that reflect both personal experience and collective history. Whether you’re an experienced writer or just beginning your poetic journey, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to discover new ways of seeing—and writing—the city we call home.
*Pay What You Like means that a fee is required to attend this program, but the amount you pay is at your discretion.
