Pop Up with Roots KC : A women-owned plant shop

Saturday, May 23 (rain date May 30)
Pop Up with Roots KC

12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Free event | No tickets required

Join Roots KC, a locally owned, woman-owned plant shop, for a hands-on mini succulent terrarium bar on the Museum’s historic grounds.

Guests can build their own custom terrarium using succulents, soil, and decorative elements, with their team guiding you every step of the way. In addition to the terrarium experience, they have a curated selection of tropical houseplants and pots available for purchase.

Roots KC will also be offering on-site repotting services, so you can leave with a fully styled plant ready for your space. This is a casual, come-and-go experience designed for all skill levels with no plant knowledge needed.

Roots KC has two Kansas City locations in the Westside and River Market neighborhoods, and we’re excited to bring a piece of their shop to the Museum. Guests can also purchase drinks from Elixir the Museum’s Soda Fountain and bring them outside to enjoy.

Did you know that Mr. Robert A. Long had both a greenhouse and plant conservatory on site back in 1910?
